Summary: Research position for 1 (one) Research Grant (“Bolsa de Investigação”) is open at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project CityCatalyst with No. 046119 (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-046119), funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), through the Regional Operational Programme of Lisbon (POR LISBOA 2020) and the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020) of the Portugal 2020 framework.

Admission Requirements: Master (mestrado) degree in electrical, electronics, telecommunications, computer, informatics engineering, or equivalent, with relevant professional experience or a final project (M.Sc. dissertation) successfully defended in the area of telecommunications and relevant work experience on Software Defined Radio, Radio-frequency design and Embedded systems. The candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program.

Work Objectives: Design, implementation and validation of sensing devices for smart cities communication infrastructures.

Applicable legislation: A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Fellowship Regulation of Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia. Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Arnaldo Oliveira.

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: April 2021 or soon thereafter.

Monthly salary: 1104.64€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer.

Communication of the results: DEADLINES AND PROCEDURES FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING, CLAIMS AND APPEALS

Once the provisional ranked list of the evaluation results has been communicated, applicants have 10 business days to, if they wish, dispute the decision during the preliminary hearing phase, according to Articles no. 121 and the following of the Administrative Procedure Code (CPA).

The final decision will be disclosed after the analysis of the applicants’ arguments presented in the preliminary hearing. The final decision can be claimed within 15 business days or, alternatively, appealed within 30 business days, after the communication of the results, respectively. Applicants who choose to submit a claim should present their arguments to the member of the FCT Board of the Directors with the delegated competence. Applicants who prefer to submit an appeal should present their arguments to the FCT Board of Directors.

Results will be published at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, in Aveiro. The selected candidate will be notified by email.
