EURAXESS Communities of Practice
Disclaimer: This page is under development. More content is added in near future.
Six thematic EURAXESS Communities of Practice are established and piloted during the years 2024-2026, for sharing knowledge for specialization of Euraxess network members. EURAXESS network members are professionals supporting the researchers mobility and career. The goal is to test new working modalities for the European-wide network, for better efficiency and connection/collaboration between the EURAXESS Centres.
The EURAXESS CoPs are platforms of EURAXESS Centres staff members to exchange (give and gain):
•expertise
•experiences
•best practices
•knowledge through capacity building
CoPs are based mainly on co-competences, focusing on capacity building, with the professionalisation of the network members in the forefront.
CoPs have clear thematic focus, chosen based on the needs of the network members that stem from the current areas and trends in:
•researchers’ careers and mobility
•administrative support provision on those topics
CoPs apply community based approach: engaging and addressing network members (external experts are engaged ad hoc)
Each CoP has set their working modalities on the basis of the common EURAXESS CoP-s guidelines. Each of them may use different ways for opening to new/all members from the European-wide EURAXESS network members.
How are CoPs different from EURAXESS Hubs?
- EURAXESS Hubs are structured service centers that provide direct support to researchers and their employers. They focus on delivering consistent, organized services across the network.
- CoPs, on the other hand, are collaborative spaces where EURAXESS members and external professionals work together to create knowledge and develop innovative solutions related to research careers, mobility, and other relevant topics.
- CoPs are flexible and topic-specific, unlike the more service-oriented and broad focus of EURAXESS Hubs.
The CoP of Supporting mobility and procedures, including entry conditions, social security, and taxation is moderated by the partners from EURAXESS Netherlands (Nuffic) and EURAXESS Slovakia (SAIA, n.o.).
Main goal:
- to address the issues related to entry conditions and social security issues.
Main topics:
- Intra-EU mobility of researchers and of family members – practical aspects of implementation (based on the Directive 2016/801 or similar)
- National good practice incentives/measures facilitating the researchers´ fast-track entry procedures and favourable residence permit related issues
- Institutional good practices in assisting researchers/navigating them through the entry and residence permit conditions
- A1 applicable to business trips – practices and solutions?
- EU registration procedures associated with employment of the employee with applicable legislation in another EU Member state
- EU notification principles applied to postings – how to proceed?
- Remote/telework from abroad (EU/non-EU citizens) – practices and solutions?
