EURAXESS Estonia is glad to invite all international researchers and academic staff working at Estonian R&D institutions as well as their family members to our autumn networking event. We will visit the Tallinn TV Tower and Tallinn Botanic Garden on 13 October 2018.

At the TV Tower we will see the temporary exhibition “There are no bananas. Time travel to Soviet daily life.” and permanent exhibition “Estonian Hall of Fame”.

The “There are no bananas. Time travel to Soviet daily life.” exhibition takes a look back at a period that today we feel free to laugh about. Those who lived during those times can remember the absurdities of the era and share stories with their children, while foreigners with no personal nostalgia for the Soviet period get a chance to cast a glance into the everyday lives of people behind the Iron Curtain.

The “Estonian Hall of Fame” futuristically designed exhibition surveys the various claims to fame for people in Estonia – nearly 30 extraordinary moments are laid out before you.

At the Botanic Garden we will have a guided tour in two groups where we will hear about changes in the nature during Nordic autumn, see colourful foliage and enjoy a walk in fresh air.

Agenda

Minor changes in the program may occur. Participants from Tallinn should arrive at Tallinn TV tower by 11:15 by their selves. You can reach the TV Tower by city buses 34A, 38 and 49 ("Teletorn" stop).

Registration

We kindly ask each participant to contribute 10 euros – participation fee for an adult person, and 5 euros per child. Children under 3 y are exempt from any fee. The participation fee includes all costs related to the event. For registration please fill in the REGISTRATION FORM.* Registration deadline is 8 October 2018 at 08:00 a.m or until places are full.
